It’s going to be a really big show, as Ed Sullivan used to say. The Super Bowl, the mega game of all games will be played in Miami, Florida tomorrow. The two teams who have risen to the top and will clash on a 100 yard field showing their dynamic athleticism are the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.

“To build a better life” is an organization that creates commercials encouraging human respect.  I applaud the efforts of this organization because, to quote “Eve of Destruction” (1965) written by P. F. Sloan and recorded by Barry McGuire, “… human respect is desintegratin’/ This whole crazy world is just too frustratin.’”  Sadly, this song was recorded in the sixties, and not much has improved in forty-five years.

Topping the list of many of my favorite seafood dishes is shrimp. The cost of shrimp makes it a little difficult for of us to serve it as an entrée item. That’s why the bigger shrimp are often only served as an appetizer.
A great way to beat the high price of serving big shrimp is to process it yourself. Instead of shopping in the frozen food section for those $10 a pound, P&D-IQF (peeled and de-veined, individually quick frozen) shrimp, try looking in the fresh seafood case at the jumbo shrimp in the shell.

Mother arrested after her baby is hospitalized

A Coffee County woman is being held on a $1.5 million bond after her seven-week old daughter was found to have both arms and both legs broken, Sheriff Steve Graves said.

Patricia Wilhoite, 26, of Ragsdale Road, was charged Thursday night with aggravated child abuse. Graves said more charges are expected as the investigation progresses.
