U.S. Sen. Bob Corker said the U.S. must work to reduce national debt related to gross domestic product Tuesday in Manchester, where he visited a stop on a state-wide tour to “Hopefully cause our citizens to focus on the issue” of deficit spending and the national debt.
Corker said that debt measured against the gross domestic product (GDP), the market value of all goods and services produced within the U.S. is a standard way of looking at the question of debt. “Most countries measures their indebtedness by comparing it to GDP,” he said.
