There are signs that current long winter of economic discontent may be coming to an end, according to Tennessee’s commissioner of labor, who predicted that the state’s economy may be showing signs of strength by the end of the summer.
“I believe things are going to move a little faster when the spring gets here,” in terms of job growth; so much so that the state is not interested in recruiting low-wage employers, said Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neely.
Neely’s comments were made Wednesday at the Manchester/Coffee County Conference Center, where he attended a meeting where the results of Southern Middle Tennessee Underemployment Study were released. Read the rest of the story on
