Oscar night pumps local hype

Curious as we are at The Saturday Independent, we decided to ask around to see who locally was hosting any Oscar Night parties.
Our friend Jonathn Ivins obliged with this facebook correspondence:

Will there be a theme or costumes for the party? If so, what is the theme?
The party’s theme is “Oscar Night Party.” We will have 8 guests who are friends from St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Tullhoma, as part of a Dinner Party club that has been organized as a way for people to get to know each other in a different place than church.

What movies are you pulling for & why?

We are pulling for “The Blind Side,” because it is based on a real family from Memphis.

What is some of the excitement behind  and fun that will be at this party?

We will roll out the red carpet, dangle Hollywood spangles from the ceiling, and ask our guests as they enter, “Who are you wearing?” “Is it J.C. Pennay or perhaps Tarzhay?”
When guests arrive, we are planning to play a party game of “guess the celebrity" by sticking the names of famous celebrities on the backs of guests, that can only be answered with “yes” or “no” questions.
We will serve champagne in frosted glasses and sparkling grape juice for those who do not imbibe.
The menu has not yet been determined, but everyone will contribute a covered dish.
