June 17, 1930 - January 13, 2012 Memorial Services for Mr. Robert Campbell Baker, age 81 of Manchester will be conducted at 1:00pm, Tuesday, January 17 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. Visitation with the Baker family will be from 11am until service time Tuesday at Manchester Funeral Home. Mr. Baker passed away Friday at his home.

Dorothy Jean Roddy Garrett

Longtime resident of Manchester, Tenn., and wife of the late attorney Horace James Garrett, Dorothy Jean Roddy Garrett passed away peacefully Jan. 8, 2012, surrounded by the loving embrace of her family.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Dorothy Jean was the daughter of Margaret Williams and Andrew Jackson Roddy. She was the third of four sisters, including the late Helen Margaret Roddy Johnson (Mrs Thomas A. Johnson), Anne Elizabeth Roddy Douglas and Ruth Roddy.

Upon graduation from Ensley High School in Birmingham, Dorothy entered Alabama College at Montevallo in 1940. Over the next four years she became actively involved in multiple drama and student government activities, was elected president of the Student Government Association and was named Miss Alabama College in her senior year.  In 1944  she graduated with honors.

Daniel, age 65 of Manchester will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the chapel of Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother John Daniel and Brother Keith Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Sartain Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Daniel passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Funeral services for Lillie Louise Thompson, age 95, of Woodbury, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Raus Cemetery in Bedford County. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, December 26 at the funeral home. Ms. Thompson passed away on Wednesday, December 21 at her residence in Woodbury.
