Scott SmeltzerFuneral services for Scott Smeltzer, age 20 of Manchester, were conducted Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family was Wednesday prior to services beginning at 10:00 am until service time at 1:00. Scott passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Centennial Hospital.
Scott was born July 4, 1989 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Rose Brown. He graduated Coffee County Central High School in 2008 and enjoyed street racing, hunting, and fishing. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Wilburn, grandfather, Bayless Brewer, and brother, Johnny Brown.
In addition to his mother, Rose Brown, his survivors include step-father, Johnny Brown; brother, Patrick Smeltzer; both of Manchester, step-brother Jared Brown of Grundy Co.; step-sister, Sherry Vassar of Tullahoma; grandfather, Donald Wilburn; aunts, Elainea (Justin) Gilbert, Christine Bounds of MS; uncles, Jack (Crystal) Brewer, Earl (Misty) Brewer, David (Annabelle) Wilburn, all of Manchester, and numerous cousins.

Bettye Lou Slatton Arms
Funeral services for Mrs. Bettye Lou Slatton Arms, age 70, will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 3:30 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Dishman officiating services. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. She passed from this life Monday, October 19, 2009 at Stone Crest Medical Center in Smyrna.
Mrs. Arms was born June 25, 1939 in Rock Island, TN to the late William and Dorothy Ann Vaughn Slatton. In earlier years she worked as a Psychiatric Nurse by trade and was “mom” to all who knew her. She was of Catholic faith and instilled truth, dignity, tolerance, respect and above all, unwavering love to her family. She also had a timeless sense of humor that never fell short. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Jean Arms; and brother, Stanley Slatton.
Her survivors include children, Michael (Anne) Arms, Vernon (Connie) Arms, Alicia Arms, Charles Thompson I, Stevie Thompson, Sharon Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Cheryl Thompson, Spence Thompson III, and Jackie Thompson; siblings, Joan Hares of Los Angeles, CA, Arvil “Butch” Slatton of McMinnville, TN, Al Shull Jr., Jane Shull, Andrea Shull, and Jeff Shull, all of Lacine, MI; 18 grandchildren; and 9 great- grandchildren.
The most noteworthy achievement is the strength that was instilled in all that had the pleasure to know her and the love for her family.

Rev. George W. Lewis
REVEREND GEORGE W. LEWIS, age 67, of Tullahoma, passed away, Monday, October 19, 2009.
Reverend Lewis is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Lewis, Sr. and Lottie Williams Lewis; three sisters, Julia Swift, Susie Amison and Debra Hamby.
Reverend Lewis is survived by his wife, Beverly Shaw Lewis; two daughters, Dr. Beverly Renee Lewis of Tullahoma, Lisa G. Lewis, Esq. of Alexandria, Virginia; three brothers, Floyd Lewis, Jr. (Delores) of Bessemer, Alabama, Reddith Lewis (Jacqueline) of Hoover, Alabama, and Ellis Lewis (Cynthia) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; one sister, Mattie Lewis of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; mother-in-law, Rival Holmes (Tennyson) of Tullahoma; two brothers-in-law, Dexter E. Wellington (Louise) and Wayne Shaw, Sr., both of Tullahoma.
Visitation with the Lewis family will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Kilgore Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 26, 2009 from the Greater Love COGIC Church in Manchester.
Burial will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery in Tullahoma.

Everette “ed” Vestamark White
EVERETT “ED” VESTAMARK WHITE, age 78, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
Mr. White is preceded in death by his father, Spencer White; wife, Bobbie D. White.
Mr. White is survived by his mother, Rebecca Grace Smith Dunn; one son, Brian White of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Monica Lynn Nippers of Murfreesboro and Maggie Lea and William Trawick of Christiana; five grandchildren, Lynsey and Madison Nippers, Danyelle and Skyler Trawick, and Clay Barker-White; one great-grandson, Noah Register.
Visitation with the White family was from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2009, from the Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

WILFORD BAILEY, age 69, of Tullahoma, passed away, Thursday, October 22, 2009.
Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by his parents, Asa Bailey and Coreine Humphreys Bailey; three brothers, Paul Bailey, Howard Bailey, and James Bailey.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Lillian Bailey; two sons, Greg (Terri) Bailey of Tullahoma, and Chris (Amy) Bailey of Shelbyville; one brother, Gordon Bailey of Illinois; two sisters, Sue Sanders of Summitville and Ann Mattison of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister-in-law, Wanda Bailey; four grandchildren, Jackson, Clay, Cody, and Lexi Bailey.
Visitation with the Bailey family was from 5:00 until 9:00 pm, Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Kilgore Funeral Home.
Graveside service were held at 11 am, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multi-County Cancer Society.
