Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Shelton, age 72 of Manchester, will be conducted Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Gary Bell and Bro. Marvin Davenport officiating services at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening, October 30 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Shelton passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009.
Mrs. Sue Shelton was born March 3, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Herman and Beatrice Young Todd. She was a member of Forest Mill Baptist Church and enjoyed watching the Lady Vols basketball team as well as watching her grandchildren play. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and James Todd.
Her survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, James O. Shelton of Manchester; sons, Michael Todd (Jenny) Shelton of Tullahoma, James Scott Shelton of Manchester; daughter, Debra Sue Puryear of Tullahoma; seven grandchildren, Joseph Todd Shelton, John Michael Shelton, Jacob Lee Shelton, Martin Lee Puryear, Felicia Marie Shelton, Christopher Scott Shelton, David Allen Shelton; and one great-grandchild, Madeline Shelton.

Funeral services for Alfred West, age 86 of Manchester, will be conducted Sunday October 25, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Brother Horace Lee Jacobs and Brother Ray Marcrom officiating services at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. West passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 at his home.
Mr. West was born November 22, 1922 in Coffee County, to the late George and Eliza Hickerson West. He was a member of Blanton’s Chapel Methodist Church and retired from Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency having released the first deer and turkey in Coffee County. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in North Africa, Japan, and Normandy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one grandson, Mike Love; a daughter, Diana Turner Trail; brothers Oscar, Wade, Horace, and George West; sisters Zora Farrar, Nette Earp, Eleanor Jernigan, Cornelia Banks, and Lena Throneberry.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Betty West of Manchester; daughters Carol (Glenn) Love of Gulf Breeze, FL, Susan (Leo) Sain of Aiken, SC; Debbie Turner of Knoxville, Cheryl (Wayne) Vandagriff of Manchester, Gena (Steve) Dix of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Greg (Jeanne) Love, Tammy Stegall, Richard (Nikki) Sain, Jonathon (Michelle) Sain, Tonya Trail, Jeremiah Vandagriff, Rachel Dix, and Jared Dix; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Coffee County Public Library, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and/or American Heart Association.

William Andrew Roberts, age 25, passed away Thursday at his residence in Tullahoma. He was a native of Chattanooga and the son of Larry and Sherrie Boatman Roberts of Tullahoma. Andrew was a computer engineer at Aerospace Testing Alliance and a contemporary Christian recording artist. He was a Christian and a member of King’s Cross Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Tyler Alexander Roberts of Murfreesboro, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dale Boatman of Englewood, FL., and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Roberts of Flat Creek, three aunts; Kim and Heavy Duty Frazer of Port Charlotte, FL., Mary and Donald Ward of Murfreesboro, and Barbara and Douglas Cootes of Lakeland FL., two uncles, David and Donna Roberts of Clinton, TN. and Tim and Lisa Roberts of Deason; Godparents, John and Jo Ellen Craze of Soddy Daisy; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday at King’s Cross Church with Bro. Phillip Moody officiating. Burial services will be private. Wesley and Melviney Stacy Williams. She was a homemaker and attended Main Street Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rigney was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rigney and four sons, Chuck Rigney, Doyle Rigney, Charles Rigney, Jr. and Finnis Rigney. Mrs. Rigney is survived by three sons, John Rigney, Billy Rigney and Rayford Rigney; one daughter, Jewell Rigney; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and very loving and dear friends, Helen Anderson Kirby, Carl and Wilma Brothers, Hazel Willis and Marvin and Minnie Goss.
