With one response to a CNN reporter’s cheap shot, Newt Gingrich resurrected his campaign. When John King asked Newt about the comment from an ex-wife that he had asked for “an open marriage,” Newt leveled the guy – and won South Carolina. Newt discovered that evangelical Republicans dislike, even more than infidelity, a smug, biased, leftist “moderator.”

Oddly, women seem to let the open marriage thing slide. As for men, the only thing most men would prefer to an open marriage is an open bar. If you combine that with football on a flat-screen HD TV and serve hot wings, you would carry 99% of the straight male vote. Newt getting newer and more blonde wives could be good for the economy. Any time a man marries his mistress it is a job creator, because then he will need to get add a new mistress.

‘The Office’ in transition

Maybe I am a snob when it comes to comedy on television, but I do not like most of it. When I watch most comedies, I get the overwhelming urge to take a nap.

This is especially so when it comes to new shows, and while watching them, I wonder how most of them got made. Seriously, what network executive thought ‘Whitney’ was funny?

Venture cap v. communism

The Bain of Mitt Romney’s existence now comes from an unlikely source: a fellow Republican. But in Monday's GOP debate, Romney defended free-market capitalism well.

Newt Gingrich, the “smartest guy in the room” (just ask him), has put forth the pandering and preposterous premise that what Mitt Romney did at venture capital firm Bain was somehow bad. His narrative, which the leftist media is all too willing to amplify, goes against the very core of what I thought was the philosophy of the Republican Party.

Alderman French sets record on Kohl’s debacle the editor:
I just wanted to take a few minutes to the record straight regarding the s situation, as well as my position
on the matter. As an elected representative of the citizens of Manchester, I completely
reject the letter of excuse written by our city attorney who did so at the request of three fellow Alderman and
the Mayor. When one is elected to a public office, it is the responsibility of that individual to answer to their constituents regarding
issues; whether or not the issues are controversial. That being said, I have offered a continuous stream of information regarding
the potential Kohl’s site and the stipulations that may be involved.

Is human touch gone?

The opinion of many is the level of customer service people enjoy has dramatically slipped over the years. My initial response is to agree with this point of view.

However, after thinking deeply about this for a few minutes, I am not so sure. After all, we all tend to romanticize the past. Experiences from decades ago are often remembered as being sweeter than they probably were.
