Blago gets a hung ‘jury of peers’

Memphis, Tenn. – Ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich, the part-time Elvis impersonator and full-time buffoon, seems to have bought himself some time. The Chicago jury in his corruption trial is deadlocked on whether or not to convict him on all but one count. Obviously a “jury of his peers,” the same people who elected him Governor are well represented on the jury. They sound pretty smart; when they were pronounced “a hung jury” on 23 counts, the men responded, “Well, thank you, Judge.”

Fun at the movies

I enjoy movies a lot, and one of the best experiences of the summer can be going to see a movie in a cool theater on a hot day.
As the years have gone by, I have noticed a lot of changes when it comes to my movie theater experience. Of course, this happens with most aspects of life. For people my age, just about everything is different when compared to how they were when we were children.

Memphis, Tenn. – The day comes when all the kids are gone. We sent our youngest kid off to NYU, the middle one back to the U of M to see what they can do with him, and our oldest to medical school this week. At times like this parents worry about many things to do with their kids leaving the nest, including the roommate situation – not the kids', but their own.
