“I thought we played much better this week than last week,” said Wildcats head coach John Olive on the field after the game. “We got that running game going and it opened up some other things for us. I’m real proud of the effort we gave tonight.”
Two sophomores, Jordan Sheffield and Trey Burks, combined for almost 300 yards total offense as the Wildcats overcame a third-quarter hiccup and then put the Cavaliers away on a beautiful night at Wilkins Stadium. Cookeville, the defending District 6-AAA champion, is now 0-2 on the season while Tullahoma evens its record at 1-1.
