Motlow student athletes excel in the classroom

Student athletes at Motlow College continue to provide academic
leadership and set excellent examples for their fellow students. Many
have earned Dean’s List and Honor Roll designations during the fall
2011 semester.
Motlow has been the leader throughout the community college
system in Tennessee in student athlete graduation rates during the
past two academic years. If fall 2011 is any indication for the current
year, then it appears Motlow could be headed toward a third consecutive
year of graduating the highest percentage of student athletes in
the state among community colleges.
Dean’s List
Athletes named to the Dean’s List (minimum 3.5 grade-point average)
for the fall semester include:
Baseball - Caleb Bowen (Gurley, Ala.), Shaw Dickerson
(Dyersburg), Kyle Henshaw (Winchester), Jacob Honea (Tullahoma),
Thomas Lundborg (Brentwood), Brett Mansfield (Athens, Ala.),
Chase Morris (Tullahoma), Andrew Mullendore (Murfreesboro),
Kenneth Perkey (Madison, Ala.), Kent Voorhies (Pleasant View), and
Zach White (Lawrenceburg).
Men’s Basketball – Sean Gardner (Collierville), Brandon Hunter
(Gallatin), Chris Jordon and Andrew Scofield (Huntsville, Ala.), and
Raul Tutton, Jr. (Memphis).
Softball - Morgan Hemmingsen (Woodlawn), Roxanne Hillman
(Clintwood, Virginia), Amy Perry (Lynchburg), and Rebecca
Rubalcaba (Bell Buckle).
Women’s Basketball – Katie Lipham (Hazel Green, Ala.), Jennifer
Maynard (Cookeville), Presley Owen (Jonesboro, Ark.), Emily Rivers
(Bolivar), and Lekera Taylor (Chattanooga).
